A
portfolio is managed on a discretionary basis when the day to day investment
decisions are delegated to a professional portfolio manager.
By
transferring the day to day management of a portfolio to a professional manager,
there is no longer any need for the investor to manage or constantly re-balance
or agree to re-balance the assets of the portfolio, This task is now fully
delegated to the firm.
Many
banks, brokerage firms or financial planning firms may offer discretionary
management services. However, portfolio managers are rarely in contact
with Clients. This is not the case at Japa International. Portfolio
managers remain accessible to our clients at any time.
By law financial planners, brokers and financial advisors
may provide advice to Clients, but are not normally allowed to make investment
decisions for their clients. Only
registered portfolio managers
are authorized
to provide full discretionary portfolio management services.
